The region itself is segmented into a number of communities
Taupo, Turangi, Mangakino and Mt Ruapehu/Tongaririo make up a large portion of the entire Lake Taupo district.
Taupo is vibrant community with a buzzing cafe scene, loads of weekend event action, growing nightlife and fantastic family fun. The locals love this place because of it’s relaxed pace of life and wide range of activities on offer. The outdoor lifestyle is second to none with access to bush, lake and mountain just so easy and convenivent.
Turangi is just 35 minutes from Taupo town itself and has a tonne of stuff on offer. Long known as the ‘Trout Capital of the World’ this vibrant rural destination has more on it’s plate these days than just fish. Whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountainbiking, climbing, golf to name just a few.
Mangakino offers wide open spaces, a mirror perfect lake, secret trout streams, vast native bush, and rolling farmland all brought together in a friendly country community.
